The Mental Health Awareness Program organized by Amity College of Commerce, Amity University Gurugram, aimed to spread awareness about mental well-being among underprivileged children by creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
The initiative sought to educate children about emotions, stress management, self-expression, and the importance of seeking help through simple, interactive, and age-appropriate activities. The program also aimed to reduce the stigma associated with mental health by encouraging open communication, emotional expression, and positive coping mechanisms. Through storytelling, games, creative exercises, and group interactions, the event intended to nurture emotional intelligence, resilience, self-awareness, and confidence among children while promoting empathy, leadership, and social responsibility among student volunteers.
The session effectively created a warm, engaging, and supportive environment where children were encouraged to openly express their emotions, participate in interactive discussions, and learn healthy coping strategies in an enjoyable and accessible manner. Through storytelling, role-playing, drawing activities, and group bonding exercises, participants developed a better understanding of emotions, stress management, self-expression, and the importance of seeking support when needed.
The valuable guidance and coordination of Savita and Ankita Yadav, along with the enthusiastic efforts of student coordinators Vani Goel and Neetu, played a significant role in ensuring the success and effectiveness of the initiative. The incorporation of the “Call for Help” concept further reinforced the importance of communication, emotional support systems, and mental health awareness among young individuals.
