A one day training programme on Viral Hepatitis and Other Complications was organised by ACON in collaboration with Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi on 30th May 2019. The programme was conducted in the form of a webinar where experts from ILBS gave the lecture on various aspects of Hepatitis.
The aim of the programme was to create an awareness programme amongst the student nurses as well as the faculties regarding the various types of hepatitis, prevention and treatment of hepatitis so that the prevalence of hepatitis can be reduced.
The webinar started with an online pretest which all the participants had to fill. The pretest was conducted to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice of healthcare workers regarding viral hepatits.
The experts for the various sessions included Dr Sapna Chauhan, Dr Reshu Agarwal, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Virology, ILBS, Ms Tarika Sharma, Assitant Professor, College of Nursing, ILBS, Ms Cecily Babu, Sr Nurse Manager, ILBS, Ms Seema Babu, Nurse Educator, ILBS who gave their sessions on various topics such as epidemiology, laboratory diagnosis of viral hepatitis, prevention of needle stick injuries and fibroscan as a diagnostic tool for viral hepatitis.
Overall all the sessions were very interactive and educative for the students and faculties. The webinar ended with the post test followed by the valedictory session.
