Amity University Gurugram organized In-service education programme .The event was organized for staff Nurses who were posted in Psychiatry Ward at Dr.R.M.L Hospital Delhi. The event commenced around 10:30 am in the morning and was attended from the staff Nurses posted in Psychiatry Ward at Dr.R.M.L Hospital Delhi and MSC Nursing (Psychiatric nursing).

The objective of the event was to organize the In-service education programme for staff Nurses on Nicotine patch and Gum usage, to appraise the importance of treatment strategies for Narcotic abuse and Staff Nurses can upgrade their knowledge and can apply and utilize this knowledge in Psychiatric Nursing practice.

The students have explained the importance of Nicotine replacement therapy, complications of nicotine use, and contraindications of NRT, general guidelines for applying nicotine patch, sign and symptoms of nicotine toxicity and discussed the complications and drug interactions among client. Pre -test and post -test was also conducted by the M.Sc. students and all the staffs gained knowledge as reflected by their post- test scores.
