Amity Business School organized workshop on CMIE Database for All BBA, MBA and Economics students and faculty members.

The Speaker of the event  was Ms. Saumya Mehotra, Business Relationship Manager, CMIE. She  briefed about the CMIE and its databases. Further, she explained how to register on the CMIE website and get access to the databases; prowessIQ and economic outlook. She elaborated that ProwessIQ is a query-able database of over 50,000 Indian companies (time-series data from 1989); includes all companies traded on the Stock Exchange, thousands of unlisted public limited companies and hundreds of private limited companies. Also, she explained that Economic outlook presents review, data and forecasts of the Indian Economy . After this, she provided hands on the ProwessIQ database and Economic outlook. She explained that how to extract firm level data from prowessIQ and macro level data from economic outlook.

She concluded the session with the advantages of the CMIE databases and how it is useful for students to analyze annual report of companies, extract data on compensation to employees to compare the salary structure of different companies.
