The Webinar was focussed upon the various aspects of Film Production of Indian Cinema with special reference to Casting, as a job profile, roles, and responsibilities associated with it, the challenges prevailing at the ground realities and opportunities lie ahead.
The prime objective was to explore and discuss Film Casting as a career alternate for the students of Journalism and Mass Communication, to motivate them to make it in this associated branch of Film making and provide hands-on expertise and guidance. Total 60 students and faculty members attended the session.
The Speaker, Mr. Shubham Gaur, Casting Director, Indian Casting Company Mumbaiwas himself alumni of Amity School of Communication, Amity University, Noida and he was very keen to deliberate upon the profession of Casting as the Director. He discussed the nuances of casting, some practical approaches established from his own experiential learning while working on the field, expectations of the film industry, qualities and skills required for a student of Journalism and Mass Communication to aspire and the opportunities lying ahead. He also presented a brief analysis of the differences in the style of working between Hollywood and Bollywood as a Casting Director. The Webinar was concluded by Dr. Manish Verma, Hon. Director, ASCO and the students were also delighted to get an opportunity to speak with Mr. Shubham Gaur during Q and A Session.
