Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Forensic Science, ASAS organised a Boot Camp on Innovative Detection in Food Adulteration on September 19, 2024. The event proved to be a resounding success, as students engaged actively in hands-on experiments to detect food adulterants in common items such as curd, coffee, black pepper, mustard oil, turmeric powder, and sugar.
The primary aim of the awareness cum practical training session organised by the Amity Chem Club was to educate participants about food adulteration and equip them with practical skills for detecting adulterants in various food products. This initiative sought to promote health-conscious consumption habits and reinforce the importance of food safety within the community.
In conclusion, through these practical applications, participants learned how to identify various adulterants, which are often introduced by manufacturers to reduce costs at the expense of consumer health. This training session significantly raised awareness about food safety issues and encouraged students to adopt healthier eating habits.
