The Amity School of Earth & Environmental Sciences (ASEES) at Amity University Haryana, Gurugram, has organized the Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA): Catch The Rain -2023, Govt of India, Ministry of Education, Department of Higher Education as part of Earth Day 2023. Amity School of Earth and Environmental Science (ASEES) along with students and faculty members have celebrated Earth Day week 2023 (19-26 April, 2023) under the theme Catch The Rain and Invest in Our Planet. Following student centric programmes had been organized and conducted successfully with overall participation of students under guidance of faculty members.
Earth Day is an annual celebration that honors the achievements of the environmental movement and raises awareness of the need to protect Earth's natural resources for future generations
The event was inaugurated by Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Madhukar The event started with welcome address by Prof. I.S. Thakur, Director ASEES and the session was briefed by Dr. Kushagra Rajendra, HOD, ASEES. The session was followed by opening remarks and words of motivation by Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Madhukar, Pro Vice Chancellor, he highlighted some of the emerging environmental and water conservation issues being faced by mankind.
The concluding event of display of slogans and posters, wall writings and award deceleration & distribution were conducted on dated 26/04/2023 at Art Gallery in presence of invited guest Prof. Atul Thakur, jury members, faculty and students of Amity School of Earth and Environmental Science and Amity School of Fine Arts.
Shaili S Nigam extended vote of thanks to all stakeholders including students, faculty members and university administration.
Total 270 students attended the event.
