Amity School of Architecture and Planning celebrated International Women’s Day

Amity School of Architecture and Planning celebrated International Women’s Day and battle of art  on 8th March 2021. The main objective of the event was to celebrate International Women’s Day and encourage on giving shape to the young talent through their art and ideas. 

Dr. Hina Zia, HOD, Jamia Millia Islamia, talked about the position of women in architecture education and profession and on various aspects of gender equality by sharing their wide experiences. 

Dr. Kanchan Gandhi, Post-doc Fellow, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali, discussed her experiences and project-based insights on gender issues in disaster-hit regions. She further elaborated on what women faced during this pandemic time in our country as well as women across different nations. 

Dr. Ila Gupta, HOD, Amity School of Architecture and planning. shared her views on the challenges women face in the Architecture and Planning profession and discussed how a working female can handle all odds coming in her professional and day-to-day life. After that, all four Alumni Speakers also discussed their professional journey as female Architect/Planner. 

Total of 36 students and 8 faculty members attended the session.
