A Society Outreach Program was organised by the Departments of Dietetics and Applied Nutrition, Public Health, AMS on 20 March 2025. For students, the visit provided a valuable platform for experiential learning, strengthened their communication and leadership skills, and instilled a deeper sense of empathy and social responsibility.
The aim of the community health visit to Chandla, Dungerwas, Haryana was to raise awareness about essential health and hygiene practices, with a special focus on yoga, maternal nutrition, and menstrual hygiene. The initiative also aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application by involving students in practical outreach activities, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and promoting health literacy within the rural community.
The community outreach initiative successfully enhanced awareness regarding health, hygiene, and nutrition among the residents of Chandla, Dungerwas. It empowered women with crucial knowledge about menstrual health, helped dispel prevailing myths, and encouraged the adoption of healthier lifestyle choices.
