Amity School of Liberal Arts in collaboration with Government Agency organized the 3rd International Conference on “Relevance of Indian Knowledge System in the 21st Century on 29th and 30th December of 2022.
Shri Akhilesh Mishra, Ambassador of India to Ireland at Embassy of India; Dr. Om Prakash Pandey, NASA Scientist and Scientific Advisor, Government of India; Shri Sanjay Bhasin and Shri Mahabir Guddu, Director and Deputy Director of Haryana Kala Parishad; Shri Ajay Dutt, Hon’ble MLA, AAP New Delhi, and Dr. Ramavtar, Sanskari Yog Guru, New Delhi were the invited speakers for the session. Furthermore, Prof. Balram Singh, Professor, UMASS Dartmouth, USA, Shri. Nandakumara Mattur, Executive Director, The Bhavan London, UK, and Chancellors, Vice-Chancellors and professors of various renowned universities were also invited to emcee the session with the graceful presence and wisdom.
The main themes of this conference were Conceptual Framework of Integrating IKS in Modern Education, Modern Era, Applications of Vedic Science, Philosophy, and Gurukul Education, Karmik Linguistic Theories and Practice, The Bhagavat Gita: Introspect, Retrospect, and Prospects, Nation and Character Building through Indian Knowledge System, Sanskrit Language and Literary Tradition: Past and Present, The Bhagavat Gita and Yoga in Contemporary Education and Indian Knowledge System under NEP 2020.
The two-day conference commenced with Vedic Invocation and Lightening of Knowledge Lamp. This was followed by Opening Remarks by Prof. Sanjay K. Jha, Director, Liberal Arts, AUH. Welcome Address was delivered by Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Vikas Madhukar, AUH. Hon. Vice Chancellor, AUH, Prof P.B Sharma congratulated and greeted all in online mode. Thematic parallel paper reading sessions were conducted in offline mode in which 79 papers were taken up in 16 sessions. The sessions also included question and answer platforms and brainstorming categories.
The main objectives of the event were to heighten the knowledge and lessons learnt from Indian Knowledge System and discuss their relevance in human development and to disseminate the significance of Indian Knowledge System with special reference to Indian Classical Literature as part of Indic Studies. The event also focused on emphasizing the human values through teachings of Sanskrit and other Classical Literature for the holistic well-being of mankind and to create a common research platform for innovative research to maximize social harmony, peace, and co-existence. The event’s central idea was to revive and promote Indian culture, human values, and indigenous ethics.
The event focused on promoting India’s classical literature, indigenous ethics, vibrant culture, and human values to create a divine race of human beings and a better model of human living, in encouraging innovative interdisciplinary research in all the key aspects of IKS to make human life more meaningful, in making today’s youth aware of IKS initiatives of IKS division of Ministry of Education and Maximize integration of IKS in streams like Astronomy, Ayurveda, Yoga, Mathematics, Language, Linguistics, Metallurgy, Economics Management, Engineering, and technology and in accentuating teachings of Sanskrit to inculcate Manav Sanskar and preserve Manav Sanskriti for social harmony, peace, co-existence, and the holistic wee-being of mankind.
Dr Supriya Sanju thanked participants for making this conference a success. Prof Dr Sanjay K Jha, Director ASLA, thanked all participants for their gracious Prescence and contributions.
