On August 16th, 2022, Amity School of Architecture and Planning(ASAP), Amity University, Haryana organised a webinar with a guest speaker, Dr. Muhammad Farhan Fazli, Associate Professor, Aligarh Muslim University, on "Importance of Architectural Conservation in Heritage Institutions". Dr. Mohammad Farhan Fazli is an Associate Professor at Aligarh Muslim University. He has contributed significantly to the field of architectural conservation. At Aligarh Muslim University, he is a member of the conservation team.
In order to preserve a cultural resource's legacy value and increase its physical lifespan, heritage conservation refers to acts or procedures that are intended to protect the characteristics that give it its unique identity. It is the job of architects and planners to maintain Heritage buildings in the appropriate manner, protecting these structures and buildings from the ill effects of the past while preserving function and aesthetic appeal in anything new that is added to these assets. This webinar's major goal is to increase students' knowledge of the significance of heritage
conservation.
The guest speaker was introduced by Dr. Pallavi Sharma. In his talk, Dr. Mohammad Farhan Fazli discussed the heritage values connected to architecture. Through examples, he discussed the significance of preserving historic structures and the many stages of heritage conservation. Ar. Meenu Babu gave a thank-you speech and suggested that further conservation seminars and partnerships be held. The participants were able to comprehend the tiny procedures that were performed to preserve historic structures.
The students gained an understanding of the significance of preserving our nation's historic structures as well as the actions necessary to do it as a consequence of the webinar. The session's primary goal of raising students' understanding of the value of cultural preservation was accomplished.
