Amity Institute of Pharmacy, Amity University Gurugram celebrated National Pharmacy week between 21st – 27th November 2021. 

The main objective of the event was to make our healthcare system more robust and holistic with the active engagement of Pharmacists. Various events such as society outreach and awareness regarding pharmacy as a profession, safe and effective use of medicine, drug abuse and patient counselling was done and extempore talk was organized. Mr. Vinit from Vth Sem delivered a extempore talk on “Ergot alkaloids: Their clinical uses and side effects”. Mr. Himanshu talked about the “Growing menace of communicable diseases”.   

With the changing landscape and domain of healthcare sector, it is evident that the role of pharmacist becomes very crucial. Pharmacists not only act as a connecting link between Physician and Patients but as an individual also it plays significant role in the betterment of healthcare sector as a hole. It performs some of the most important duties such as to make people aware about various communicable diseases, about the menace of drug abuse, drug dispensing with proper patient counselling, spreading awareness about the drug resistance and in emergency cater the need to society. 

Total 90 students and 10 faculties attended the session.
