Amity Institute of Health and Allied Sciences, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida organized a Free Health Check Up Camp for women faculty, staff and students, under the initiative “Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar” launched by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, in accordance with the directions from University Grants Commission (UGC). Women’s health and empowerment is a cornerstone for strengthening families, communities and nation to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047. In view of this, the campaign “Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar” has been launched nationwide which will culminate on 2nd October 2025, Gandhi Jayanti. More than 500 female faculty, staff and students benefitted from the camp.
Highlighting the importance of women’s health, Dr. Anita Sabharwal, MBBS, DGO- Consultant Gynaecologist, averred, “A woman takes care of the health of the entire family and is expected to fulfil many responsibilities. However, women focus more on fulfilling their responsibilities and ignore their health which is of utmost importance, which may sometimes lead to serious illness or a disease. Therefore, women must get their full body check-ups done from time to time so that they are aware of any ailments in their body and can take timely precaution and treatment.”
Dr. Sanjeev Bansal, Additional Pro Vice Chancellor Amity University Uttar Pradesh said, “Women contribute immensely to the development of their families, society and the nation. Therefore, in order to achieve the mission of ViksitBharat@2047, women’s health and wellness is extremely crucial. The free-health check-up camp will create an awareness about women’s health, and all women faculty, staff and students must use this opportunity and get their health check-up done.”
Dr. Jasobanta Sethi, Director, Amity Institute of Health and Allied Sciences (AIHAS) was also present on the occasion. During the day-long Free Health Check Up Camp, consultation and screening for hypertension, diabetes, cancer, anaemia, tuberculosis and sickle cell disease were provided. In addition, free Vitamin D, Blood Sugar, Haemoglobin, Pulmonary Function Test, were also conducted. Consultation for maternal and child-care through antenatal check-ups, along with sessions on “Awareness on cervical cancer prevention and awareness on anaemia”, and “Awareness on Menstrual Hygiene, Nutrition and Lifestyle Practices”, were also held.
