Dr. Masakastu Nouguchi, Associate Professor, Biodesign Department, Hiroshima University, Japan visited Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus. The aim of his visit was to explore collaboration in the areas of Cancer Research, Genome Engineering, Public Health, NeuroSpine and Drug Discovery and Development.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Masakastu Nouguchi, Associate Professor, Biodesign Department, Hiroshima University, averred “Hiroshima University was established in 1874 as University of Arts and Sciences and today has more than 15000 students. We would like to collaborate with Amity University so that new research work can be undertaken in different areas of Biotechnology, which will be mutually beneficial for both the institutions. In order to accelerate innovation in the area of biotechnology, it is crucial to work in close collaboration with organizations and researchers, which will be helpful in meeting various societal needs including environmental conservation, green energy, and health.”
Highlighting the rapid increase in cancer patients globally, Dr. B.C Das, Chairman, Amity Institute of Molecular Medicine and Stem Cell Research, said, “Amity is doing some great research in the area of cancer research and drug discovery and by collaborating with Hiroshima University, the research work can be further enhanced through exchange of ideas and knowledge, which will help in the prevention of cancer.”
Also present on the occasion were Dr. B. K. Murthy, Dean (Translational Research and Entrepreneurship Development), Science, Engineering and Technology, Dr. B. N. Mallick, Director, Amity Institute of Neuropsychology & Neurosciences along with HOIs of various institutions. Prof. (Dr.) Sunita Rattan, Dean FST & Director AIAS, presented a brief overview of Amity Universe and the welcome address was delivered by Dr. V. R. Pooja, Officiating Head, Amity Institute of Biotechnology.
During his visit, Dr. Masakastu Nouguchi, interacted with the faculty members and visited the high-tech laboratories of Amity.
