Under the vision of the Chairperson, Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, to equip the students to tread on the ‘untrodden’ path and emerge as winners, Amity International School, Sec 43, Gurgaon organized a Mock Parliament for Class VII students on December23, 2016.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp and invoking the blessings of Almighty. The School Principal, Dr. Anshu Arora, motivated the students to put up their best as young parliamentarians to find solutions to the problems by positive discussions and debates. The Parliament session started with an oath of affirmation. Two minutes silence was observed to pay tribute to Jayalalitha Jayaram, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and the martyrs of the terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
This was followed by the Question Hour where issue of demonetisation was discussed. A bill was introduced on tax reforms. The process came to an end with a Calling Attention motion on the burning issue of cross border terrorism.
