An Expert Lecture on “Korea, India and Global Citizenship” was organised by ASL on 25th August 2026. The seminar successfully provided a platform for meaningful academic and cultural exchange between participants from Korea and India.
The seminar aimed to enhance students’, faculty members’, researchers’, and experts’ understanding of Korea, Korea–India relations, development cooperation, democracy, and global citizenship. It also aimed to facilitate academic and cultural exchange, encourage the exchange of ideas, strengthen academic and professional networks, and explore future opportunities for collaboration between Korea and India.
The addresses and special lectures by Ms. Namsook Lee, Mr. Sangmo Jeong, and Dr. Sudhir K. Singh highlighted themes of development cooperation, sustainable development, Korean democracy, democratization, civic participation, and the changing international order. The congratulatory remarks by Chief Guest Mr. J. K. Tripathi, Former Ambassador of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), along with the welcome address by Prof. U. N. Singh and seminar introduction by Dr. Santosh K. Gupta, contributed to the overall academic discourse. The traditional T’ungso performance by Mr. Sangmo Jeong further enriched the cultural dimension of the event and strengthened the spirit of Korea–India exchange and global citizenship.
