Amity School of Architecture and Planning, organized Webinar on Environmentally Sustainable Planning while resuming the Indian Economy post-Covid.
Dr.Anil Kumar Roy, Associate Professor, Faculty of Planning, CEPT University, Ahmedabad addressed all the participants on various planning environment-related issues with reference to present and post COVID-19 situation in the country. He discussed the likely impacts of Covid-19 on India, cities, and its economy. He discussed also on the consideration of ecological sustainability while planning and rebooting the regional economy in India. The agendas of his entire discussions were focused on three key areas as follows:
- Finding relations between sustainability and regional economy in India
- How sustainability can be brought in practice while achieving the economic targets?
- Perspective on achieving sustainable development goals in line with dropping down the economy.
Besides, he mentioned that it has become more evident in this difficult time that the environment plays a critical role in establishing the balance between humans and living entities such as animals and plant species and the impact of anthropogenic activities on the environment. At the end, he emphasized the inclusive planning and pro-futuristic approach integrating basically spatial, social, and economic inclusion. This was followed by rounds of Question and Answer session. This webinar received a good number of participation from outside AUH such as AUUPNoida, CEPT University, Smart Fellows of MoHUA, Participants from Kurukshetra, and Maharshi Dayanand University in Haryana.
