This project is a 3-year project funded by one of the prestigious funding agencies of Government of India. The project started on 1st August 2014 and was completed on 31st August 2017.
The project was submitted as a collaboration between Amity University, NOIDA and Venu Eye Institute and Research Centre (VEIRC), New Delhi to Department of Science & Technology (DST), New Delhi.

A research team, under the supervision and guidance of Dr. M. K. Dutta, Professor and Head, Amity School of Engineering & Technology, has developed the image processing algorithms and GUI.

The project was sanctioned under the Technology Systems Development (TSD) Programme of DST, which is headed by Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Scientist G & Head (TDT), Department of Science and Technology.
Medical Partner: Venu Eye Institute and Research Center, New Delhi
A team of Medical Experts, under the supervision of Dr. S. C. Gupta, Medical Director, VEIRC, has provided the medical feedback used for clinical diagnosis. The hospital also provided the digital fundus images and provided ground truth data required to validate the results. Special care has been taken to maintain anonymity of the patient. VEIRC is the MEDICAL PARTNER for this project.
