Founder President, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation (The Foundation of Amity Institutions and the Sponsoring Body of Amity Universities)
Dr Ashok K Chauhan was born in 1942 in the state of Uttar Pradesh, northern India. After completing his M.Sc. in Chemistry in 1963, Dr Ashok K Chauhan worked at one of the largest industrial groups in India. In 1966, he won scholarship to research chemical engineering and plastic technology in West Germany and then became Head of Research and Development at Daetwyler Europe. In 1973 Dr Ashok K Chauhan started his own business based in Frankfurt, which rapidly grew and diversified as the AKC Group of Companies, an international industrial and trading empire with a turnover of over US$1.6 billion and businesses including petrochemicals, manufacturing, hightechnology and healthcare, among others. An unassuming man, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan has many titles on him. The most successful NRI of continental Europe, the ‘Man of the Year’ London, the ‘International Man of the year by International Biographical Centre of Cambridge, England, The Barter King, The Man with the Midas Touch, the list is endless.

Research and Innovation is the life-force to any society. Research not only provides solutions to all societal issues but also provides better understanding of Science and Nature, which facilitates and guides Ideas into Innovation.
With a vision to provide sustained stimulus to Research and Innovation and uninterrupted support to the Research and Development in thrust areas of societal relevance and global importance, Amity Science, Technology & Innovation Foundation (ASTIF) and Amity Directorate of Science & innovation (ADSI) were established.
I am immensely pleased and proud of my Amitians – the Vice- Chancellors, Pro Vice Chancellors, HoDs, HoIs, Faculty Members, Scientists, Researchers and Students and every member of the team who have shown extraordinary zeal, devotion, hardwork and positive approach to achieve exponential growth in terms of Projects, Patents, Publications and Awards and contributing in making my dream a reality.
I am extremely delighted to state that the rigorous and constant efforts of Amitians have led to the establishment of Amity as one of the topmost “Research & Innovation Driven University” in the country and with your concerted efforts and determination, Amity will soon reach the position of one of the best in the world.
