Guest Lecture on “MOBILITY TRENDS and ADVANCED AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY by Dr. Saurabh Mohan Saxena

AEE Delhi and AEE Amity Student Chapter organised a guest lecture for the students of ‘ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY’ domain at E-3 Block on 1st September, 2017.
The lecture was aimed to provide students knowledge of latest trends and future expectations in the automobile sector. The session started with Prof. Vivek Kumar, Secretary, AEE Delhi Chapter introducing the guest.
Dr. Saurabh M. Saxena, is a well known personality in the Automobile Industry and over 21 years of versatile work experience in the fields of Corporate Planning & Strategy, Business Development, Sales & Marketing, Innovation & Product Engineering. He is known to develop strategic and actionable solutions that drive measurable business results. Worked with ZF Hero as Country Head & COO where he had provided executive leadership to the company at corporate planning, marketing & operations level with multi-location in the automotive business domain is currently working as CEO at FINSTEM GROUP.
During the lecture many important points were touched upon, like
- Electrical revolution in automobile sector
- Autonomous vehicles
- Artificial Intelligence
- Technology advancements in future
- Collision certifications
- Future trends in India
- Hybrid technologies and alternative energies
An interaction session with the students was very effective and liked by the students as many questions were raised and were answered promptly by the guest.
This was the first event for the session 2017-18 under the newly elected student core committee. It was very delighting to see participation in good numbers.
The lecture ended with a group photograph of AEE student committee with the distinguished guest.

AEE Amity Chapter and Amity Institute of Technology organised an Expert talk on Energy conservation through Automation and Technology in Thermal Systems at Amity University, Sector-125, Noida on 25th January, 2018.
The lecture was organised for the students to learn about various Energy conservation methods and get an understanding about how automation used in Thermal Systems increases their efficiency.
Mr. V B Mahendra, CEO, Encon Thermal Engineers Pvt. Ltd. shared his rich industry experience with students. He gave a brief on the journey of Encon and the various projects they had undertaken over all the years. Then he talked about various technologies used in order to make Thermal systems more efficient. Further, he talked about the unharnessed potential energy sources like Geothermal energy, Wave energy, Vortex energy etc. that can be worked upon to harvest energy. Lastly he gave a wonderful learning to the students on the importance of being a good learner and also sowed amazing ideas to work upon in every student’s mind.
Prof (Dr) Ravi Prakash, HOI-AIT, Prof Vivek Kumar, Head-Automobile Engineering, Dr AlpanaGoel, Director-AINST and faculty members from Engg& Technology domain were also present during the talk.

AEE Amity Chapter and AIT organised anExpert talk on “Challenges in Battery Technology and Electric Vehicle Infrastructure” at Amity University, Sector-125, Noida on 19th January, 2018.
The lecture was organised for the students to get knowledge on Li-ion batteries, the technology behind them, their safe disposal and their application in different EVs .
Mr. Sunil Bhatnagar, Country head – Energy Division, Micromax Energy Ltd. was invited to deliver the talk. He gave an insight of how these batteries are designed, gave a comparison between them and the lead acid batteries and showed how Micromax Energy Ltd. is playing their part in contributing towards this technology. He also throwed light upon the plans the Indian Government has to bring EVs to the Indian roads and the challenges it is facing to do so.
