Event on Electoral Literacy

Amity University Jharkhand reaffirmed its dedication to intellectual growth and civic engagement through two significant events on 28 August 2024. These events were organized by Amity School of Communication (ASCO) and Amity Institute of English Studies & Research (AIESR).

Amity School of Communication (ASCO) organized a session titled ‘Electoral Literacy and People's Participation,’ led by Mr. Deo Das Dutta, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer and SVEEP Nodal Officer of Jharkhand. Mr. Dutta offered critical insights into electoral processes and the importance of informed citizen participation in democracy. He highlighted the Election Commission of India's SVEEP program, underscoring the need for transparent and inclusive elections.
 
Amity Institute of English Studies & Research (AIESR) hosted an online guest lecture titled ‘Towards Defining Folklore’ by Dr. Archita Banerjee, Assistant Professor at Sister Nivedita University, Kolkata. Dr. Banerjee offered a comprehensive analysis of folklores, discussing its various forms, cultural significance, and its role in preserving traditions and values. She provided the participants with a deeper understanding of folklore’s impact on cultural identity.
