Amity School of Communication (ASCO) hosted a one-day online seminar titled Cinematography and Direction on 23 July 2024. It featured some distinguished film professionals including Mr Biju Toppo, the celebrated tribal filmmaker known for his social activism through films, and Mr Rupesh Sahu, contributor to the National Award-winning film ‘Naachi Se Baanchi’ and the director of ‘Rat Trap’. Mr Toppo emphasized the importance of concept clarity in filmmaking. A clear concept, he said, enables filmmakers to connect with their audience. He also provided insights spanning from the era of Premchand to modern-day filmmaking.
The participants and the aspiring filmmakers were provided with a comprehensive understanding of cinematography and direction, exploring the creative processes behind award-winning documentaries and films.
