Amity University Jharkhand Held a Workshop on Communication Skills and Creative Writing
Ranchi, 31/03/2022: A workshop on ‘Communication Skills and Creative Writing’ was held by Amity Institute of English Studies and Research, Amity University, Jharkhand on Thursday wherein Mr. Jaideep Deogharia, Assistant Editor, Chief of Bureau, The Times of India, Ranchi was the chief guest.
Born and brought up in Ranchi, the veteran journalist has worked for Hindi, English and Bengali print media houses. He started with significance of communication as a skill. He said, “Delivering maximum inputs in a short period is an art.”
He talked on how communication is important in corporate world and what magic one can do merely by their way of speaking or communicating.
Describing creative writing, he said, “Creative writing is about choosing ideas and implementing them in a proficient way.”
Later, he came up with a group activity, where some topics were assigned to the students and their different creativity levels were enhanced.
Prof. (Dr.) Raman Kumar Jha, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University, Jharkhand said that it is always nice to speak well. “The Word communication is derived from commune meaning community. Reaching community as we intend to it means we are communicative not only by words but also by actions, expressions, and reactions. Balance is important in communication and the person should know when to start and when to stop,” he added.
Prof. (Dr.) Ajit Kumar Pandey, Director, Amity University, Jharkhand, Mr. Prabhakar Tripathi, Registrar, Amity University, Jharkhand conveyed their blessings on this occasion. The event ended with the vote of thanks by PL Mr. Abhaya Ranjan.
