Amity University Jharkhand host Photography Competition ‘Pixels’
Ranchi, 19/02/2022: With the spirit of promoting mass communication across Jharkhand, the Admission and Marketing Team of Amity University, Jharkhand held a photography contest ‘Pixels’ in its second campus at state capital on Saturday.
As many as 50 students from various schools, colleges and universities actively participated with their entries on nature, street, and product themes. Ranchi’s eminent photographer Mr. Nayan Shaurya was the chief guest cum judge on this occasion along with Amity School of Communication (ASCO) Assistant Professor cum Program Leader Mr. Sudhir Kumar and Assistant Professor Md. Rashid Iqubal Siddique as judges.
Addressing the participants, Chief Guest Mr. Nayan Shaurya said, "Photography can be a wonderful way to express your creativity and artistic flair. Artistic expression is all about you and allowing yourself the freedom in your photography to satisfy your visual curiosity."
He further explained about the technical aspects of photography including focal length, lens, aperture, shutter speed, frame, and device.
“The subject matter is entirely a choice, whether one decides to capture wildlife, landscapes, architecture or abstract scenes,” he added.
According to Assistant Professor Mr. Sudhir Kumar, Program Leader, ASCO eyes are first camera to a human which retain unclicked images of memories spent with family and friends.
ASCO Assistant Professor Mr. Md Rashid Iqubal Siddiqui discussed the techniques of photography that inspires, from motion blur to creative arrangements.
The first prize was bagged by Amrit Raj of Yogoda Satsanga Mahavidyalaya, Ranchi followed by Viraj Verma and Mohit Singh from Amity University, Jharkhand in the second and third positions respectively.
Consolation prizes were felicitated to Shivani Minz from Shanti Rani Middle/High School, Ranchi as well as Abhishek Kandulna and Brahmi Oraon from Amity University, Jharkhand.
Prof. (Dr.) Raman Kumar Jha, Vice Chancellor, Amity University, Jharkhand, Prof. (Dr.) Ajit Kumar Pandey, Director, Amity University, Jharkhand, Mr. Prabhakar Tripathi, Registrar, Amity University, Jharkhand conveyed their blessings on this occasion.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Ms. Rupinder Kaur Soans from Admission and Marketing team, Amity University, Jharkhand.
