Amity University Jharkhand organized extension activities with the motto of knowledge sharing, healthy interaction and care giving
Amity University Jharkhand has always aimed at creating good humans who would nurture the society to make it a better place and to put it to practice; various departments organize Extension activities for the under-privileged of our society.
Amity Institute of English Studies and Research organized two extension activities from 4th October to 6th October with the motto of knowledge sharing, healthy interaction and care giving. A workshop on ‘Communication and Grammar’ was conducted in S. S. Plus Two High School, Ormanjhi to provide the students of Senior Secondary, an insight into the importance of communication and grammar in this competitive globalized world. They lacked the motivation to express but the interactive games conducted by the students of B.A. (H) English helped them break out of their shells of inhibition and express themselves. An overview of preparation for competitive examinations was provided during the interactive sessions conducted by the faculty of English Department.
A similar event, ‘Express to Communicate’ was organized for the disabled residents of Cheshire Home, Bariatu, Ranchi. Living a monotonous routine life, they crave for such interaction where they are treated as equals in terms of capabilities. Irrespective of their physical condition, they participated in understanding non-verbal communication skills through interesting quizzes with utmost zeal.
These extension activities provided them an opportunity not only to learn but also to smile and accept the vicissitudes of life and overcome them. We, at Amity, aspire to bring about a change in their lives through our sincere efforts.
