A two-day international conference was organised and inaugurated by Amity University Jharkhand on 26th August. The event was based on the theme Changing Paradigms in Management and Social Sciences: A Global Perspective. The aim of the program was to make participants understand how innovative business practices have changed the work culture and  management.

The event began with the National Anthem followed by Saraswati Vandana. Prof. Dr. Ajit kumar Pandey, Director, Amity University Jharkhand gave the welcome address. He said, “Paradigm shift takes place when there is change in technology.”

Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University Jharkhand, Mr. U. Ramachandran, Sr. Vice-President, Amity Education Group, Mr. Gauravh Gupta, Vice-President, Prof. Dr. Raman Kumar Jha, Vice-Chancellor and Mr. Prabhakar Tripathi, Registrar, Amity University Jharkhand, blessed and praised the team for organising such an event.

Further there was a special address by Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University Jharkhand where he emphasized on the importance of innovation and Amity University’s effort in achieving it. He said, “There is a lesson for you. If you care for others, you will be cared. He said team work is very important in achieving the unachievable and Amity Group has proved this fact”.

Mr. U Ramachandran, Sr. Vice-President shared the vision of Amity University and stated, “We have a goal of making the presence of Amity in more than fifty countries, and we are moving forward with extraordinary zeal and enthusiasm.”

One of the panellists Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President, ASTIF, Director General – Amity Directorate of Science & Innovation & Chancellor, Amity University Chhattisgarh spoke on innovation in universities and stated, “We are in the age of knowledge and it’s a time to gain and distribute it.”

The keynote speaker of the event was Prof. Dr. James A. Miller, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Glasgow Caledonian University. He said, “We have 3 global drivers: Covid19 pandemic, climate emergency and, of course, human rights equality”. He talked about how organisations around the world need to adopt different strategies considering these.

Dr. Raman Kumar Jha, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Jharkhand talked about the shift in knowledge and described it as a unique event. He said, “Knowledge is shifting towards machine, it’s no longer in human possession.”

Another speaker Mr. Arun K Singh (IAS) Addl. Chief Secretary-cum-Development Commissioner, Government of Jharkhand talked about the continuous development in Jharkhand and efforts taken by the State Government in the field of education, medical and tourism and supported his words by saying “Jharkhand is a state with immense possibilities.”

After that Mr. Subir Mitra, Legal Advisor, GAIL shared his experience on intellectual Property Rights and said, “Intellectual property right should have 3 things: Nobility, innovation to solve problems and economically beneficial.”

The day-one of the conference was ended with the vote of thanks.
