 Amity University Jharkhand Organized UAVM Campaign on 'Universal Access to Vaccine & Medicines as a Fight Against COVID-19'

Amity University Jharkhand organized a Webinar on 'Universal Access to Vaccine & Medicines as a Fight Against COVID-19' to support the UAVM Campaign and marked contribution to this noble cause of saving the humanity. 
 
Prof. Jan Helge Solbakk, Professor of Medical Ethics at Centre for Ethics, University of Oslo, Norway, was the guest speaker. He discussed how equitable supply of COVID vaccine is essential to save the humanity. He also told that the hindrance in the large-scale production of COVID vaccines is the Patent Laws and IPR under the provisions of TRIPS of WTO, which do not permit other pharma companies to manufacture these vaccines.
 
Prof. Dr. Raman Kumar Jha, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University Jharkhand said that this is very sensitive time for all of us which imbalanced the several dimension of economic, production, education and emotion. But now it is our duty to spread this awareness to the masses.
Prof. Dr. Ajit Kumar Pandey, Director, Amity University Jharkhand said that Patent Laws need to be flexible to increase the production of vaccines and save the humanity. He said that the vaccine should be free of cost and accessible to everyone and poor countries must get adequate number of vaccines.
