Yes. This is a unique designed course to provide interdisciplinary skill to make the students industry ready. Thus, it caters all need of individual engineer from different background.

This programme is presently available in Amity University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh (AUUP) and Amity University, Manesar, Haryana (AUH).

The course has been jointly designed by DRDO & AICTE. Faculties will comprise experienced Amity Faculty, retired and serving DRDO scientists & subject matter experts both serving and retired Defence Officers. In addition, students would be visiting and doing their major projects with /in DRDO Labs and defence industry. 

So far the engineering education in the country does not have M.Tech courses adapted to impart knowledge related to defence and security applications. The M Tech in defence technology courses has been designed to produce Postgraduates who will have the necessary theoretical & experimental knowledge, skill and aptitude in various defence technologies areas and pursue them to carry out R&D in defence.

The main objective is to develop human resources who have the necessary theoretical & experimental knowledge, skill and aptitude in defence technologies and systems and can get recruited in the various defence laboratories, defence public sector & private industries, ordnance factories and other similar sectors of the economy at national and international level.

There are multiple options for the students starting from DRDO Labs, Defence manufacturing industries such as DPSUs - BEL, HAL, BHEL etc, Corporatized Ordnance Factories & Private Defence Industry Bharat Forge, L&T Mahindra, Tata, Alpha Design etc.  In addition, the student can also opt for multinationals such as Lockheed Martin, Apollo Microsystems etc. One can also establish Defence "Start-up" which is the need of the hour.

Amity Innovation and Design Centre has been established to address important innovation and design challenges in all area of engineering & technology and facilitate students and faculty innovate and prototype their design while DST sponsored technology enabling center funds the development of products/technologies.
