Dr Annu Mor

Assistant Professor
Academic qualification: Ph.D(CSE), M.tech(CSE), B.tech(CSE)
Specialization: Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Semantic Web
Total work experience: 2.5 +
Publications: 5
Overall research summary: A conceptual framework Smart City Umbrella Ontology (SCUO) in the context of Indian surface transportation for intelligent traffic management including exogenous factors has been designed using the Indo-HCM manual. The proposed semantic model supports traffic planning and design by creating a machine-understandable graph of semantically linked components such as city infrastructure, services, and sensors. Vision-based end-to-end Multi-Label vehicle Detection-Tracking-Counting(ML-DTC)  architecture has been proposed for movement-specific vehicle localization and vehicle classification.ML-DTC framework has been validated on undisciplined traffic conditions using transfer learning.  Ontology-based data-driven  Bayesian Network has been designed for handling uncertainty in data sets. The designed methodology supports syntactical and inferential levels in machine-readable form. The syntactic aspect is represented with the help of cause-effect relationships, and uncertainty is represented with the help of CPT to represent the probabilistic values corresponding to each node in the belief network.Ontology-based data-driven  Bayesian Network has been designed for handling uncertainty in data sets.

Dr. Divya Sharma

Assistant Professor (CSE)
Academic qualification: Ph.D.
Specialization: Cryptography and Steganography
Total work experience: 12 years 6 months
Publications: 5
Overall research summary:The focus of my research work is on enhancing security of sensitive digital data whether it is images or audio. With the ease in availability of the Internet their is an overall need for any users to access their information in real-time through real-time applications has increased security concerns. EMI which is important part of smart city life style has gained importance in the recent years. My focus previously was on a data set of 5856 EMI hence Chest X-ray images which are of varying sizes and dimensions while belonging to different patient's of different age groups and during the different phases of their illness. I implemented a Light Weight Hybrid Technique (LWHT) where I applied Edge-based Steganography (EBS) and then performed Layered cryptography. The computational time based complexity of the LWHT was less. It also achieved good values for the various performance tests like Structural Similarity Index Metrics (SSIM), Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR), Mean Square Error (MSE), correlation (R), etc.  LWHT was applied with NIST test showing that the encrypted image was random.

Overall research summary: My research centers around the exciting subjects of computer vision, pattern recognition and artificial intelligence applied to biomedical images for disease prediction. My drive is based on the question as to what does a doctor look for in medical images to predict and identify diseases. I was introduced to the field of biomedical image processing during my final semester of M.Tech wherein, I worked on developing novel computer aided diagnostic (CAD) systems for the classification of breast density patterns using mammograms. Continuing with my interest in applications of computer algorithms for disease prediction using medical images, I picked up my Ph.D. research topic on analysis and classification of breast abnormalities using ultrasound images. My research work has received acceptance from research community in form of publications in reputed SCI indexed journals, scopus indexed journals, conference proceedings and book chapters. Till date I have a total of 39 research papers published in SCI indexed journals, scopus indexed journals, conference proceedings and book chapters.

Overall research summary: The research presents a systematic framework for land-use planning in hill towns, which can be applied to similar context / other hill towns with very less and little interventions, taking into account specific site conditions and context. The study is performed as there is a gap in the existing literature on land use planning in the context of the hill town. The expert interviews and research into the topic indicated that selecting suitable areas for land use needs in-depth analysis and expertise. Final set of criteria is summarized under three primary categories i.e., Natural, Built Environment, and Proneness to Hazards. There are 8 criteria under Natural category, 8 under Built- environment category and 4 under Proneness to hazard category. These criteria can be omitted, added, or replicated based on the requirement of the hill site. The method for ascertaining the significance of the selected criteria to determine land use suitability in hill cities of India which includes a questionnaire survey, extraction of data from Google forms, coding and sorting of data, pairwise comparison, Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), formulation of the equations, distribution of the final scores for all the major categories and criteria under them. The framework is examined in Shimla's Shoghi special area, and the results of land use appropriateness for various land parcels in the Shoghi special area are computed using a series of equations and imported to ArcGIS for final map production, which aids in identifying locations with varying levels of suitability. An expert opinion survey is performed to derive the land use allocation process to various land parcels based upon the level of suitability. Various categories of land uses are listed which are referred from the URDPFI guidelines and further, various respective subcategories are co-related with suitability index. The conclusion includes the table for preferred land uses based on the suitability level followed by the formulation of various recommendations. Through various recommendations and empirical evidence, the research serves as a basis for advocating policy changes at various government levels to support holistic urban development in hill towns. The systematic framework developed in the research offers practical guidelines for land-use planning in hilly areas, translating theoretical concepts into actionable strategies.

Overall research summary: I have exclusively worked in areas of synthetic chemistry and process chemistry for the synthesis of heterocyclic molecules that have applicability in API synthesis featuring radical chemistry. My research work broadly includes synthesis of various heterocycles via radical chemistry, especially decarboxylative cross-coupling reactions. Because of stringent limitations of the literature protocols, such as usage of metal catalysts, multi-steps synthesis, use of prefunctionalized substrates for transition metal-catalyzed coupling reactions, use of elaborated synthetic precursors, formation of side products and overall poor atom economy, I embarked on the research projects that could largely facilitate the preparation of heterocycles for any pharmaceutical applications using metal-free oxidative conditions. The successfull execution of the projects has lead to my authorship in 8 publications (so far, many in the pipeline) and 2 patents (one is granted and the other one is under examination)
