The National Science Day celebrations at Amity University Punjab, Mohali, commenced on February 27, 2025, with an inaugural function that highlighted the significance of scientific advancements in India. The event began with a warm welcome address by Dr. Vishal Agrawal from the Amity School of Biological Sciences. Following this, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. R. K. Kohli, officially declared the National Science Day event open.
Prof. Rashmi Sanghi, Head of the Amity School of Chemical Sciences, introduced the theme of National Science Day and outlined the various events planned for the celebration. This was followed by the National Science Day Lecture, delivered by Prof. R. K. Kohli, titled "Potential of Science Research in India after Independence." In his address, he highlighted the scientific milestones achieved by Indian scientists, the evolution of science policies over the years, and the financial investments made by the government in scientific research. He also stressed the need for increased funding for science education and research to further strengthening India's position in global scientific advancements.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Anil K. Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Sciences. The inauguration was attended by the Registrar, Deans, Heads of Schools, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and the students of Amity University Punjab, Mohali.
