Amity University Punjab's NSS Club hosted a dynamic NSS Orientation event for the 2024 batch, coinciding with the celebrations of NSS Day, to emphasise the importance of community service and social responsibility. The event aimed to introduce new students to the core values and objectives of the National Service Scheme (NSS) while fostering a sense of civic duty. The orientation began with the screening of thought-provoking short films that tackled crucial social issues, including social inclusion, poverty alleviation, and social justice. These films served as an engaging introduction to the NSS ethos and provided students with a deeper understanding of the impact of community service on society.
Throughout the event, participants were acquainted with the history and objectives of NSS, as well as its core traditions. These included learning the NSS song, taking the NSS pledge, and joining in the iconic NSS clap, a gesture symbolising unity and commitment to service. The event also highlighted the key initiatives from NSS 2023, showcasing the positive contributions made by previous volunteers. The celebrations not only marked a significant milestone for the new batch but also emphasised the continued efforts of the AUPM-NSS Club in addressing pressing social, environmental, and health issues.
By actively engaging students in these important causes, the NSS Club remains dedicated to creating awareness and encouraging student participation in meaningful community service projects.
