Amity University Punjab Ignites the Spirit of Lohri with Spectacular Celebration

Amity University Punjab, a leading educational institution, embraced the vibrant spirit of Lohri with unparalleled zeal and enthusiasm during a festive celebration that brought together students, faculty, and staff in a display of cultural richness.

The festivities kicked off with everyone donning traditional Punjabi attire, creating a lively and colorful atmosphere that perfectly encapsulated the essence of the occasion. The festival, known for its association with popcorn, revari, boliyan, geisha, happiness, and joy, commenced with the lighting of a sacred bonfire. The ceremony was led by the esteemed Vice Chancellor, Prof. R.K. Kohli, the Registrar, Dr. Dalip Kumar, and all the esteemed deans, who conducted a puja around the radiant bonfire.

As the warmth of the bonfire spread, so did the joy among the attendees. The celebration continued with the distribution of traditional treats, including popcorns, peanuts, and revari, adhering to the customs that make Lohri a cherished occasion. The air resonated with the beats of the dhol as students engaged in the lively and traditional Gidda performance, accompanied by infectious Punjabi boliyan that echoed the cultural spirit of the festival.

In the spirit of recognizing and appreciating the efforts of the participants, awards were presented to the best-dressed faculty, staff, and students, adding an element of friendly competition to the festivities.
