Amity University, Punjab took a significant step towards fostering a safe and inclusive environment by organizing a comprehensive Three-Day Awareness Program on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) Act, 2013. The program aimed to educate and sensitize students about the critical aspects of sexual harassment, its prevention, and the mechanisms available for redressal.
The awareness program, held under the UGC-PoSH Regulation, emphasized the inclusion of students from educational institutions under the protective ambit of the law. The She-BOX portal, a platform designed for filing complaints related to sexual harassment, was highlighted as a vital tool available to anyone seeking redressal.
Dr. Vivek Shukla, Assistant Professor at Amity Law School, led the insightful discussions, addressing various aspects of sexual harassment, including defining what constitutes harassment, identifying who can file a complaint, specifying to whom the complaint can be addressed, and elucidating the redressal mechanisms.
The entire program was conducted under the able guidance of Prof. Dr. Shivali Dhingra, Chairperson of the Redressal Committee at Amity University, Punjab. Prof. Dhingra provided crucial information about the Redressal Committee, its members, functions, and powers, ensuring students were well-informed about the support structures in place.
Dr. Khuhsboo, Assistant Professor at Amity Law School, and Dr. Damanpreet Chugh, Assistant Professor, made valuable contributions to the program, enriching the discussions with their expertise.
