Amity University, Punjab, took a significant step towards embracing the vision of Viksit Bharat with a Cyclothon and Walkathon organized by its National Service Scheme (NSS) Units. The primary objective of these events was to promote the theme of "Swasth Bharat - Viksit Bharat" and ignite a spark towards a developed India.
The campaign aimed to encourage individuals to adopt a more active and healthier lifestyle, fostering self-reliance. By promoting team spirit, fitness, and healthy living habits, the activities sought to engage participants in a collective effort towards a Viksit Bharat. Additionally, the events were designed to sensitize students about the responsibilities of young India, emphasizing the role of responsible citizens.
The activities conducted during the event included a pledge-taking ceremony under Viksit Bharat, a Walkathon, Cyclothon, Slow cycling, and a Half Marathon. The pledge ceremony marked the beginning of the event, setting the tone for the subsequent activities.
The Walkathon and Cyclothon were coordinated by NSS volunteers, university faculties, and students, guided by Programme Officers Mr. Damanpreet and Dr. Bindu. Participants enthusiastically raised slogans advocating a commitment to walking and cycling for a developed, responsible citizenship, and a self-reliant India.
To add a competitive edge, two short competitions—Slow Walk/Half Marathon and Slow Cycling—were organized, motivating the students to actively participate. Winners and participants were recognized and awarded with gifts and certificates to acknowledge their dedication.
