The AIIS is one of the most vibrant departments of Amity University Uttar Pradesh (AUUP), has been ranked amongst the top universities globally and in Asia. The University has been accredited by NAAC with A+ grade and is the only not-for-profit Pvt. AIIS organizes a line of events and fests to imbibe a mixture of learning and excitement among the students. At AIIS, the students have a plethora of choices. AIIS is the first institution to offer a bachelors program in International Relations in India, taught by graduates belonging to the finest institutions in the country. Our curriculum is designed to prepare students for the practicalities of the field through various departmental activities. Professional courses like Business Communication, Behavioural Sciences, Human Values, Professional Ethics, and Foreign Languages are taught in addition to the core themes and subjects of IR.
Foreign Languages for the linguistic advantage: Amity provides an international perspective to the students through the various Foreign Language Programmes. The foreign language course has been integrated into the curriculum. The students have choice to select one of the foreign languages from French, German, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese.
At the UG level:

At the PG level:
- 2-year MA in International Relations
- 3-Continental (3C) MA in International Relations
- 1-year PG Diploma in Peace and Conflict Studies
At the Doctoral level:

- 5-year PhD in International Relations part-time
The institute is ably staffed by academic experts from a wide array of fields and sub- disciplines of International Relations under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Nagalaxmi M. Raman. Upholding a robust academic and co-curricular ecosystem that adheres to the thresholds of India’s New Education Policy (NEP), AIIS stays on its toes by organizing and hosting a range of seminars, lectures, and workshops throughout the calendar. Some of the events held regularly at our department include -
- VIJIGISHU, our signature annual event; in this international conference we always take topic of contemporary relevance and invite scholars, experts and people from diplomatic and military circles to deliver lectures and to present scholarly
- The Neighborhood Lecture Series, where we invite country experts from the SAARC nations to deliver lectures on bilateral relations and foreign policy;
- AIISBlog, a dynamic portal developed, designed by the department with the active contribution of faculty members, research scholars and students in various ways like, commentaries, podcasts, reviews,
- AIIS Newsletters, Domain based aggregation of important developments in the fields of:
- AIIS Weekly, collection of weekly analysis based on contemporary global developments,
- Global Mirror, a monthly e-magazine dedicated to IR,
- IRDialogue, where students discuss recent issues and their regional and domestic implications;
- Intra Model United Nations that encourages debating and negotiation

Further, World class facilities like an Olympic size swimming pool, a shooting range, football ground, cricket pitches, basket ball courts, tennis courts, Yoga are some of the many choices that the students can select from. Library is a famous hangout where students devour books on different topics of public policy by famous authors. The students can access some of the most sought after journals like the EBSCO, Oxford Press, Cambridge University Press, IOP, Taylor and Francis (oldest commercial journal publisher in the world) at the click of a button sitting anywhere in the Wi-fi enabled campus. AIIS has lots more for the adventure-savvy. With students from different states and countries, one can say that AIIS campus is a combination of diverse cultures and other regional diversities.
