Amiown, the caring preschool of Amity, celebrates its first Sports Day

Amiown, the pre-nursery school of Amity, observed a day of fun and frolic on its Sports Day held at Amity International School, Pushp Vihar. The athletic events were specially designed to inculcate a feeling of sportsmanship and teamwork while playing to make the kids self reliant and independent.

Amiown, the first of its own kind in India, pioneered in rendering Montessori system of teaching to the tiny toddlers of the city. Amiown provides a stimulating, child-centered environment in which children can explore and learn without fear, thus engendering a lifelong love of learning. At present, Amiown is running its two schools at Amity- Pushp Vihar and Vasundhara. At Amiown the kids are taken at the age of 3+ and are taken care to perfection.

The Sports Day commenced with the torch lighting by the gracious hands of Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan- Founder President, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation and Ms. Sapna Chauhan- Vice Chairperson followed by an impressive march past by Amiown toddlers, all dressed in their beautiful red Amiown track suits. Each class was led by a class representative holding the flower which symbolized the section. The children wearing pom – poms in their hands marched confidently.

Welcoming the august gathering of parents, grandparents and relatives of the tiny participants, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan-Founder President, RBEF said that these sparklers are the building blocks of the country. One can easily see the future of the country mirrored on their innocent and radiant faces. Just as a building will crumble if the foundation is not strong likewise the country cannot progress if these tender minds are not cultivated in the right way and right direction. Keeping this fact in mind, Amity has started its new venture Amiown last year thereby making Amity the only educational institution in India where a grandson and a grandfather can study together, ie. from pre-nursery to PhD.

Addressing the parents and childern, Ms. Sapna Chauhan- Vice Chairperson, Amiown said the sole objective of Amiown is the holistic development of kids, whose minds are deeply impressionable. Keeping in mind the tenderness of the little kids, even their classes are named after flowers like Sunflower, Carnation, Daffodil and Lily. Amiown not only aims to make the kids intelligent but also well versed with our rich culture and traditions, which is taking a backseat now- a -days. And to accomplish this, children are exposed to a gamut of activities like drawing competitions, sports activities making Amiown truly a home away from home.

Around 160 toddlers participated in the different athletic events like “Pack the bag Race”, “Balancing the Beam Bag”, “Tricycle Race”, Frog Hopping Race”, “ Slide and Run Hurdle Race”, “ Bunnies Collect the Carrot Race”, “ Lemon and Ladle Race” and many more interesting races designed especially for small ones to give a vent to their creativity and physical agility. To exhibit the ingenuity and creativity of the tiny tots, their art and craft work were put on display.

To make the Sports Day interesting for parents, special races were designed for athletic fathers and athletic mothers like “Run and Win”, “Lemon and Ladle Race”, “Parent couple’s three legged race” and “Wrap a gift race” in which the parents participated enthusiastically and gave a tuff competition to their rivals.

The winners of the various athletic events were awarded prizes by Dr. Ashok K Chauhan. The event came to a close with a magnificent grand finale. As the balloons flew up in the sky after the national anthem, the children marched out with pride to the tune of Vande Matram. Their performance left everybody spell bound as the coordination, patience and perfection were unimaginable.
