2nd Annual National Psychology Fest Abhivyakti ‘07 -The Power of Expression’ organised by Amity Institute of Psychology & Allied Sciences

Amity Institute of Psychology & Allied Sciences (AIPS) is a unique institute in the area of Behavioural Sciences. AIPS focuses on Teaching, Behavioural Skills training, Psychological Testing, Workshops, and Seminars etc in the field of Counselling Psychology, Psychology and Behavioral Sciences. The overall objective of AIPS is to capacitate individuals to create inner harmony in themselves and be able to harmonize themselves with other individuals and society at large.

The action packed two day National Psychofest Abhivyakti ‘07-The Power of X-pression organized by Amity Institute of Psychology & Allied Sciences (AIPS) commenced an avid with the demonstration of good communication skills by Mr. Ashish Kumar Mitra, IPS, DG BSFat Amity University Campus, Noida. Inaugurating the festival, Mr. Mitra said, “The need to communicate is a very natural desire. In any field, expression is very important and a good psychologist is one who can understand and handle the expression of persons well. He advised students to feel their responsibility towards the Nation and be ready to shoulder this responsibility in case we want country to make better and stronger. Citing the examples of road rages he remarked road rages could happen because of bad road conditions, stress or frustration which leads to violence which is also a kind of expression. Sharing his tips on how to be a good leader, he said, good leader should be good listener, have an ability to win trust of his stakeholders and express his views to the masses.” On this occasion 3rd Annual Student’s Magazine “Drishti” was also released by the Chief Guest.

Shri Nikhilananda, Head of Chinmmaya Mission Delhi speaking on the occasion remarked, “Life is a continuous journey of expression from birth to death. There are two motivating facts of expressions one which is from within and one from the surroundings. If there is a conducive learning environment then the best would come out of the students. If we are motivated from the deeper level the best would come. We have the potential to be peaceful or violent i.e. we have the right to choose from what we want in life”.

Dr. Jyotsana Chatterjee, Director & Secretary, Jt. Women’s Programme, India Empowering Women and Child remarked, “Our youth has great potential and can bring revolution. Out of one billion population, half of the population is in the creative age. Education is aimed at developing good human being and Psychology helps in making good humans. In education, Psychology plays a very important role, wherein Psychologist can teach the concept of good living, help in getting right person for right job and plays a big role in health care Speaking on the issues of discrimination she said one must not discriminate on the basis of caste and religion and all people should get equality and justice otherwise there will be no peace in the world.”

Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation said, “The knowledge of Psychology Science helps us in knowing ourselves closely enough to turn around our weaknesses into our potential area, thereby increasing each individual’s productivity to the benefit of the society at large. Our dreams are big, encompassing not just the issue of raising productivity through individual understanding but also training individuals to lead happy, stress free, and balanced lives. With this idea in mind, the Institute has been setup first to train all the Amity students in the area of Psychology Science and thereafter reaching out to the Corporate, NGO’s, Schools and the society at large.”
