National Seminar on “Business Strategies in the Borderless World” organised by Amity Business School, Manesar

Amity Business School, Manesar organized a National Seminar on “Business Strategies in the Borderless World” on October 8th, 2006, in collaboration with Gurgaon Industrial Association (GIA), Gurgaon Management Association (GMA), NCR Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NCCI), Haryana State Productivity Council (HSPC) Gurgaon Chapter and IMT Industrial Association, Manesar. This was an endeavor to bring academicians and corporate leaders from different parts of the country on a common platform for a great learning experience. The seminar gave an in depth insight of the various emerging trends in management such as Knowledge Management, Virtual Organizations, Balance Scorecards, Role of Training, Development and Research in promoting Global Competition, Customer Relationship vis-à-vis Global Competition Combating Global Competition through Marketing strategies etc. The seminar had elaborate discussion and paper presentation on all the issues and sub-issues related to the main theme.

Inaugurating the seminar with the traditional lamp lighting, the chief guest Mr. N.K Minda -Managing Director, N.K Minda Group of Companies said that in the present scenario of global economy the word “Borderdless World” has generated millions of business opportunities world wide. Gone are the days when the market was of confined limit, now the acceleration has huge potential to improve the life of billions around the world.

Welcoming the august gathering Dr. R.C Sharma, Advisor, ABS, Manesar said that without strategies we can not survive in the market and gave a brief overview of the seminar. He thanked the several agencies of the Haryana Government for their cooperation and support.

Sharing his vision with students, Mr. Aseem K. Chauhan-Additional President, RBEF advised Students to learn HR elements in their practice and nurture this talent. He asked the students to tap HR capabilities when they become leaders in the corporate world. In this global environment of business, one can not succeed without Imbibing values and ethics. Global leaders must understand the culture and traditions of that particular country before devising strategies, advised Mr. Chauhan.

Deliberating on the topic of the seminar, Mr. J. Ashraf-Executive Director of Santa Group of Industries opined that in the present scenario companies are not eastern or western rather they are working every where in almost every part of the world and delivering quality services. The companies which are following QCD (Quality, Cost and Delivery) have come to certain level. He further disclosed that many entrepreneurs from foreign based companies visit India ever year and one can easily conclude that the technical jargons and quality standards are now globalised.

Welcoming the august gathering, Dr L.S Sharma-Director ABS, Manesar said “Latest technology has been a drive to bring the world together. Strategies help to achieve the mission and vision of the organization successfully. We have to adapt according to the changing environment so that our nation can help the other nations”. He further asserted that India has truly become competitive, either it is buying companies abroad or abroad based companies are outsourcing in India.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ajay K. Singla-Associate Director, (Pharma Research) Ranbaxy Reasearch Laboratories said that many companies those who had been focusing on R&D has had win a great success and have great opportunities especially in the pharmaceutical world. The borderless world will be providing a great amount of new offerings for the corporate and management students as well.
