Industry captains facilitated at the Eighth Annual Corporate Meet organized by Amity International Business School

Amity International Business School has imbibed culture of bringing the industry and academia together on a common platform to understand the needs of the industry which facilitates students to get education in the most pragmatic way. The Corporate Meet is a step forward to meet the objectives of venerating the Industry Captains for the efforts that they craft by imparting Summer Internships to the students and guiding them. Keeping this in mind, Amity International Business School, Noida held its Eighth Annual Corporate Meet’ at its Noida Campus.

The main objective of this Corporate Meet was to felicitate the Industry Captains and acknowledge their contribution in grooming students into nascent managers through their unremitting guidance during Summer Internship.

Luminaries from the corporate world such as CII, Lupin Ltd, GAIL, Reliance Industries, Indian Hotels Ltd, Vardhman Group, Samtel India Ltd, Nicholas Piramal, IDBI, Apollo Tyres, HCL Infosystems Ltd, Ernst & Young Pvt Ltd, ABN Amro Bank, Britannia Industries Ltd, GE Capital, Berger paints, DLF Ltd and many others shared their experiences with the academic fraternity on this occasion.

The Meet was inaugurated by Dr. Gurinder Singh, Dy. Director General, AIBS, Pro Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Mr. John Coeking, Representative, University of East London, U.K. with the traditional lighting of the lamp.

The meet commenced with the felicitation of the Advisory Board Members. The Advisory Board is a body, which consists of prominent members from the corporate sector who give their concerning advice on the issues of reforming the curriculum, selection of students, improving industry interaction and the latest trends in the Industry which facilitate research, consulting and the training division of the Amity International Business School.

Mr. John Coeking, Representative, University of East London, U.K. remarked that collaboration between University of East London and Amity International Business School is displaying great results. Mr. Coeking said that AIBS has always been working in its endeavor to meet industry's need for professionally trained manpower. Mr. Coeking added that India is well on its way to become an economic superpower and said globally requirement is of the more young ones to lead. India is passing through exciting times and an era of intellectual capital wherein the youth have a very significant and leading role to play. Mr. John said that the management education is a three tier process. The first level is the knowledge or awareness stage wherein the core or basic courses in different areas are taught. The second level is the skill or application stage wherein the elective or specialization courses in a specific area are taught. Third level is the future or potential stage wherein unique courses in emerging areas are developed and offered for super specialization.

Introducing the concept of Corporate Meet, Dr. Gurinder Singh, Dy. Director General, AIBS and Pro Vice-Chancellor, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh told the audience that the institute has the Industry Interaction Cell (IIC), an innovative and unique concept for management institute, has been set up with an objective of bringing industry and academia close to each other. IIC is a nodal centre which acts as a resource centre for faculty, students and Industry. In addition to organizing Management Development Programs, Consultancy, Research and In-company Training Programs, Industry Visits, Guest lectures, CEOs Forum, Quizes, corporate get-togethers, Alumni interaction etc. IIC actively involves students in various activities to develop the Participative Managerial Effectiveness.
