MBA Students ‘Endeavour’ at Amity

The MBA students of the Amity Business School (ABS) are organizing their maiden festival ‘Endeavor ’05… To Fly To Reach the Sky’ at the Amity Campus, Noida from March 18- 19, 2005. The theme for Endeavour ’05 is ‘Emerging Business Scenario in Global Economy’.

The festival was inaugurated today by Shri Mangat Ram Singhal, Minister for Industry & Commerce- Govt. of Delhi. The Guest of Honour on the occasion was Mr. Ratilal Kalidas Verma, Hon’ble MP- Lok Sabha. Appreciating the efforts of all the students, Shri Singhal stated: “I am really amazed at the hard work you all have put in to make Endeavour a success. I am sure that young individuals like you would be able to take our Country to great heights”.

“Today is the era of Competition, Talent as well as Values and the person who has all these traits can tread any path with success. The entire world has opened shores for intelligent students like you, I am sure that with proper direction and the education that you imbibe at Amity, you would be able to take our country to prosperity”, said Mr. Verma.

According to Prof. Anil Sethi, Faculty Coordinator, Endeavor ’05: “Life originates with a quest to prevail over elements and prosper in its realm. A child learns to crawl, a bird attempts to fly – all with an urge to achieve. This eternal urge to perform and excel drives the human beings every day. New evaluation benchmarks and ever changing business makes it imperative that we evolve to survive and flourish”.

Dr. B. Shukla, Deputy Director General- CRC said: “Endeavor aims at spreading awareness to develop the managerial effectiveness among students. It also attempts to encourage the students to undertake various activities, which demonstrate their leadership and managerial capabilities”.

The key attractions at Endeavour were: “ZEPHYR… the winds of change” event. In this event, stalwarts from the Corporate World deliberated on ‘Emerging Business Scenario in Global Economy’ during this session. Some of the speakers for the session were Mr. V. N. Rai, MD- KRIBHCO; Mr. Hemant DP, Country Manager- FedEx; Mr. Raja Mukherjee, President- Marketing, Bajaj Hindustan Ltd and Mr. B. Surinder, Market Head- Express India.

The valedictory function was presided over by Shri Kapil Sibal, Hon’ble Minister for Science & Ocean Technology. Congratulating Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan for the consistent top rankings of ABS, Shri Sibal said: “Amity’s Nano- students would be giants of tomorrow. Today’s business leaders must inspire passion- passion and the zeal to achieve their goals but at the same time, they must have the willingness to learn”.

Amity instituted the Business Excellence Award upon Mr. Anand Mahindra, Vice Chairman- Mahindra & Mahindra. The Best Spiritual Channel Award was bestowed on Aastha Channel, NDTV was adjudged as the Best News Channel while Mr. Aroon Purie, India Today was awarded for the best Political Coverage.

Mr. Atul Chauhan, President- Ritnand Balved Education Foundation thanked the corporates for their august presence. “I must thank the Corporate World for supporting each and every initiative of our students. You are what our students aim to become”, said Mr. Chauhan.

‘AFREEN’…the cultural show created a fun extravaganza through cultural evening, featuring Fashion Shows & Dance performances by students. This was followed by a musical night by Shibani Kashyap.

The grand finale of Endeavour was a scintillating performance by the rock band Silk Route. Hundreds of students thronged the Amity Campus Lawns to listen to the ‘Dooba Dooba’ singer.
