Guest lecture on Einstein and His Year of Miracles by Prof. (Dr.) Ajoy Ghatak
Amity School of Applied Sciences, Amity University Gurgaon organize a guest lecture on Einstein and his Year of Miracles by Prof (Dr) Ajoy Ghatak (Former Professor at IIT Delhi) and S S Bhatnagar award, winner on 4th August.
The session begins with the welcome speech of Prof (Dr) A K Yadav (Director Amity School of Applied Science). Dr A K Yadav shared his remembrance from IIT Days where he had got an opputunity to listen Dr Ajoy Ghatak. In his inaugural address Prof (Dr) P B Sharma (Vice Chancellor Amity University Gurgaon) recalled the famous equation by Albert Einstein, E = m c2 and motivate students to listen to the work of the great scientist with utmost attention.
Prof Ajoy Ghatak began his lecture by sharing the life and work of Einstein starting from memories from his childhood days then switched to the scientific achievements of the genius scientist in an interactive manner. Prof. (Dr.) Ajoy Ghatak described all the greatest works published in the year 1905, starting from the papers in statistical mechanics to the famous ‘Theory of Relativity’ and mass-energy equivalence. He also touched upon the famous works of great scientists like Isaac Newton, Otto Hahn, Paul Dirac and others. His presentation was full of rarest videos and audios of Einstein’s own voice.
In his vote of thanks, Prof (Dr) R K Thakur (Deputy Director ASAS) mentioned that the students got immensely motivated to dwell deeper into the fundamental principles of science and use them in their pursuit of further studies and research.
