Dr. Downing Thomas from University of Iowa visited Amity University
On the path of Internationalization and connecting Amity University Gurgaon with the best Universities of the world, the Office of International Affairs on 4th May 2017 invited Dr. Downing Thomas, Associate Provost and Dean, International Programs from The University of Iowa at Amity University Gurgaon to explore the areas of mutual cooperation and develop linkages. Dr. Downing was felicitated with a floral welcome and presentation of Amity Memento by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr) P.B. Sharma. He also briefed the guest about Amity University Gurgaon. The Directors and HoDs were also present at the meeting and shared their research strengths and on-going projects, by which The University of Iowa may want to join hands with Amity University Gurgaon.
Dr. Downing presented a brief about The University of Iowa to the audience and shared key inputs on how the University of Iowa can connect with Amity University Gurgaon. He also presented a brief about the ‘India Winterim’ program that has won ‘Andrew Heiskell’ award for Internationalization and expressed likelihood on exploring how Amity can contribute into the program. The deliberations led to explore some very innovative and interesting areas where the two Universities wish to collaborate in times to come.
Session got concluded with vote of thanks by (Dr) Gunjan M. Sanjeev and thanks given appreciation message by Dr. Downing for welcoming him to Amity to learn more about the institution and the group and explore possibilities of collaboration.
