Amity University Madhya Pradesh Celebrates 68th Republic Day 2017

 The 68th Republic Day of the country was celebrated with zest and fervor at Amity University Madhya Pradesh Gwalior 26 January 2017 from 1000 Hrs. onwards. 

The programme commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, AUMP Lt Gen V K Sharma, AVSM (Retd.) and was followed by his address to the Amitians. He spoke of the time when India was a slave nation and how the present generation is blessed to have been born in a free India. Then he spoke of the challenges that the youth faces. The nature of the challenges changes with every era but every generation has to struggle to overcome its challenges. Gen Sharma reiterated that the future of the nation lies with the youth and the youth and the youth must pledge that as an individual unit, it will work for the betterment of the nation. With all individual units working in tandem, India will soon acquire peace, prosperity and fame.

 

The Hon’ble VC’s address was followed by some sporting events for the Support Staff of the University. The Support staff was divided into four categories: Peons, Housekeeping, Security and Drivers. Sack Race, Medicine Ball Game, Four men three ball game and Back Throw game were organized for the support staff. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, AUMP, Lt Gen V K Sharma, AVSM (Retd.) along with the Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr) M P Kaushik, Director (Admin) and DSW Col S K Sethi and Deputy DSW Dr Iti Roychowdhury gave away the prizes to the winners of these events.

 

The Republic Day Celebration was attended by Registrar, all HoIs, HoDs, Members of Faculty and Staff and a large number of students.

 

A cafe in the campus by the name of Scorpion Cafe was also inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor on this day of joy and festivities.
