Amity Business School Celebrates International Women’s Day on March 08, 2017

International Women’s Day was celebrated at Amity University Madhya Pradesh on March 08, 2017, by Amity Business School. International Women’s Day is a celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women across the globe. The day also calls to action for accelerating gender parity. International Women's Day has been observed for well over a century and it continues to be an important factor in driving a change in women’s position across the globe.

The programme at AUMP commenced with an overview and brief history of this day. The issues addressed in the first part of event were about females and their roles in our society. The students showcased the contributions of females in today’s scenario in our country, whether it is household duties or other professional roles. This session was organized with the help of role plays showcasing famous female personalities of India who managed their problems and challenges and became successful in their respective fields such as Pooja Thakur, Medha Patkar,Chhavi Rajavat, Arundati Bhattacharya, Deepa Karmakar, Irom Chanu Sharmila, Amrita Devi, Harmanpreet kaur, Arunima Sinha, etc.

In the second act 17-18 students paid homage to women through various quotations to define the different roles women play in our life & our society. This act retreated that women are not supposed to be dominated by their male counterparts or face any gender stereotypes prevailing in our society. This act gave a message that women have power to change things beautifully.

Tushaar from B.com II semester presented a very apt solo song to pay respect to women.

There are many successful, inspiring and brilliant females in our university as well. They were greeted and appreciated for their success and brilliance. Games like, dumb charades, purse bingo, Guess the Hinglish song and many more fun activities were organized for the female faculty members and female students of ABS. The winners of games, Team Ms Rimjhim Jha and Team Ms Mansi and all other participants received prizes from Prof. (Dr). Anil Vashisht (Director, ABS) and Dr. Manoj Pandey (HOD, ABS).
