“Advance Sewing Techniques”
A workshop is organized by Amity school of fashion technology on New Sewing Techniques under able guidance of Prof. Pooja Verma Director ASFT, coordinated by Ms. Gitanjali Jaiswal (Assistant Professor). The aim of the workshop is to introduce sewing as a creative expression. The entire workshop was assisted by Professionals of Usha International (USHA Sewing Machines), to create in-depth knowledge & awareness about the Industrial Automatic Sewing Machines and also provide an opportunity to the students to create Haute-couture Design styles.
The Automatic sewing machines of Japanese Technology Janome were introduced to the students where they demonstrated their creative designs using various machines like Juki, Dream maker, Wonder Stitch, Fashion Stitch, Stitch magic. Students were also introduced to the specifications and configuration of the design machines provided by the USHA.
The creative workshop received an overwhelming response from students and they freely expressed their creativity and enjoyed making quirky and funky mobile covers, hand bags/ skirts using old denim jeans and decorative items with the Zig Zag, embroidery and built in memory features of Usha Janome sewing machine
Mr. Vijay Pandey (Program coordinator) UP. Mr. Ashish Anand (Area Manager ) along with three Technicians successfully conducted workshop and, said “ Usha International is the market leader in sewing machines in India. Our sewing machines are specially designed to enhance expression of creativity by the youth and women of India. Usha Janome sewing machines are not just used by domestic and industrial consumers, but also widely used by fashion designers and fashion institutes. We have technologically upgraded our sewing machines greatly, making them versatile, to meet the needs of every consumer in creating designs for home decor, personal accessories, dresses, etc.”
Two days of the workshop proved to be a wonderful experience for students as they learned how complex sewing can be done easily with help of advanced technology sewing machines.
