Interactive Session on “Campus to Corporate”

Campus to Corporate; an interactive initiative to facilitate a forum where aspiring biotechnologists and pharmacists can interact with the best minds of the industry and choose the most successful career avenues for themselves was jointly organized by Amity Institute of Pharmacy and Amity Institute of Biotechnology, AUUP, Lucknow campus with the goals of identifying gaps between  academic training and corporate expectations, create awareness among students about challenges of the corporate world and finding ways to bridge the gaps. A galaxy of experts from industries and research labs were invited for this session such as Mr. Kulvinder Sarao; Sr. Vice President – A&C – Human Resources, Panacea Biotec Limited, Dr. V.P. Sharma; Senior Principal Scientist Indian Institute of Toxicological Research, Lucknow, Mr. Tushar Toohy; Deputy General Manager-Marketing Lupin Limited, Mumbai and Ms. Pratika Srivastava Manager Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacokinetics Division, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited.

Prof. (Dr.) Suneela Dhaneshwar, Director Amity Institute of Pharmacy and Deputy Dean of Research welcomed the audience and emphasized the importance of striking a balance between technical and soft skills to cope up with the challenges of corporate world. The Inaugural address was delivered by Brig Anil K Tiwari Director Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow who appreciated the humongous contribution of Pharmacy and Biotechnology in enhancing the quality of life and boosted the spirit and aura of the gathering.

Nimisha Pandey Assistant Professor, ASCENT moderated the interaction where students asked questions about how to write impressive resumes, skills to crack an interview, demands and newer trends of industry, career options. Mr. Kulvinder Sarao as a Director HR discussed importance of understanding of business and mission of a company. Mr. Tushar Toohy emphasized that to be a market leader one should have confidence, learning ability, and a balance between knowledge and soft skills. Dr V. D. Sharma advised of have competence, professionalism and Humane factor to succeed in a research lab, and Ms. Pratika advocated the importance of quality of standing out, differentiated thinking, adaptability, mental toughness and ability to convert knowledge into results to crack an interview. Dr. J K Srivastava Director, Amity Institute of Biotechnology proposed vote of thanks.
