On 21 October 2016, the second phase of the E commerce series is been conducted by Dr. Kshirsagar. The seminar was organized in Seminar hall from 2 pm to 4 pm by ABS. The total number of students is attended were around 70-80 with six faculties of ABS.

Focus Areas :

In this session the primary focus was given to the online shopping. Dr Kshirsagar throwed some light in some data where he quoted the penetration of e-commerce is low compared to markets like the US 84%, France 81%. Number of e-Commerce orders in India estimate is 1.2 cr. per month in 2016. In special reference to India he said, cash on delivery mode is 75% of the e-retail business; some of the e-tail companies in India are Flipkart, Snapdeal, Amazon India, and Paytm. Students get to know about the format of B2C, where a person orders products from website/portal, and receives it by courier or, post parcel. Another category he explained was distributor buying from manufacturer, called B2B. A third category is suggested was C2C, where a current user sells his goods to another person.

Dr. Khirsagar explained the tems well in detail with proper data like he explained that e-commerce sector estimates of ecommerce market is Rs. 2 lakh cr by end 2016; which by 2020, it is expected at $100 billion ie Rs 7 lakh cr. The session also includes the discussion on key drivers of e-commerce, where do we stand & success factors. He named some international firms like Alibaba and Amazon who have huge experience and insight in the business, which will weigh in their favor relative to new start-ups. The session was very effective as it was an orientation of practical and theoretical discussions.
