Workshop for students on Scientific paper and Project writing
A total of 38 students (M. Tech. Semester I and III, MSc. Semester I and III, B. Tech. Semester V) along with 7 AIB faculties attend the event. The workshop on ‘Scientific paper and project writing’ was arranged to highlight and enhance research culture among students. Dr. Suprasanna renowned scientist from BARC, Mumbai was the resources person for the event. He took the workshop in two parts. In his first part he covered Scientific paper writing and the next part of the lecture was dedicated to project writing.
In scientific paper writing, he valued upon good quality writing, different sections in journal, quality journals, impact factors, citations and so on. He made aware about plagiarism and software to identify plagiarisms in scientific writing.
Under project writing Dr. Suprassana stressed upon need for funding, identifying topic for funding and funding agencies. He highlighted that number of rejected projects are high compared to accepted. This is because of improper writing of proposals and selection of wrong funding agencies. He advised students that in scientific writing they first should look for the hypothesis and then support it with their experiments. After the event an interactive session with students and faculties was arranged.
