“Computer Aided Drug Design with Techniques and Recent Trends in the Area”
The lecture schedule was composed of three sessions: In the first session, there was a talk on Computer Aided Drug Design with Techniques and Recent Trends in the Area. In his talk Dr. Bastikar had provided a detailed insight on Computer Aided Drug design with Techniques and recent trends in the area. He had also discussed some case studies on drug design and development methods used in Pharmaceutical and Biotech companies. He had discussed the case of Nicholas Piramal, where Dr. Bastikar told about the strategies followed by industries to design new drugs. The interactive talk was followed by an interaction session with faculty members of AIB, headed by Prof. S. L. Kothari, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director, AIB, AUR. In this session, Dr. Bastikar had informed about ongoing research projects and collaborations he had in the European Union. Dr. Bastikar, also willing to have collaboration with Amity University Rajasthan, as a partner to do collaborative research and promises to provided full support to faculties, researchers and students. Prof. S. L. Kothari had accepted his proposal for collaboration with his consortium of the European Union to do translational research. After interaction session Dr. Bastikar had given a demonstration of various Docking methods and its result analysis followed by NAMD (Nanoscale Molecular Dynamics) simulation studies. This demonstration session was attended by faculty members and Students of AIB.
