"Working Model Competition" - Round -1

Energon is a yearly event for a Working Model Competition among the PG/UG students of any stream. It is regularly organized by Energy Club, a student club established by Amity School of Applied Sciences (ASAS).   Energon-2 is a sequel to Energon -1, which was organized in 2015-16.

The first round of Energon-2 for 2016-17 was organized on August 31, 2016. The Theme of the Competition was Sustainable Development. It included following two major topics:

1.      Innovative measure for Healthy and Clean Lucknow.

2.      Energy generation/conservation using non-conventional sources

The Event began at 11 am in Multipurpose Hall with participation of 26 teams with about 125 contestants of UG /PG students of Amity as well as from IT College, Lucknow.  The whole event was hosted by Mr. Vipin Vinod Kumar Patel student of B.Tech (MAE) - 3rd Sem and coordinated by Dr Sangeeta Bajpai, faculty, ASAS. The chief guest of the event was Dr. Umesh Rustagi, Project Coordinator, Regional Science City, Lucknow.

Event kicked off with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony by the Chief Guest, Judges, Directors and faculty members present there. Thereafter, briefing about  ENERGON was given by Dr H. K. Dwivedi -Director ASAS.

All the participants had put their respective ideas of models in the form of posters and a number of experts interacted with the participants and suggested specific improvements, so that students are ready for 2nd round of the competition, scheduled to be held in last week of October 2016.

There was a Group discussion session. This GD session provided a platform for participants to interact with experts, faculties as well as other teams present there. Methods and concepts to make the ideas better and more efficient were discussed. Valuable ideas were given by Dr. Umesh Rustagi,  Dr. H. K. Dwivedi, Prof. S.T.H. Abidi, Dr Anil Kumar, Prof AK Johari, Prof RP Garg, Dr Nalina Singh, and Dr. Sangeeta Bajpai, There was a good presence of senior students, who also mentored the participants with ideas.

 The event concluded at 2:00 PM with the vote of thanks by Dr. Sangeeta Bajpai. Encouraging feedbacks were given by both Faculty members  and students. The whole event concluded in the environment of joy and fervor.
